which SF unit would be better suited for rescuing a high ranking US official, Navy SEALs or Marine Recon?

please explain your answer and people who have military knowlege answer please. please explain if one is capable why the other is not
lets say the high ranking official is being kept prisoner in a hostile country that we are not in war with

Long ago, it would entirely be up to who in nearest and available. But they long since took out the In-extremis Hostage Rescue mission out of the Force Recon’s misson statement plan. Division Recon never had it in their repetoire. Many figured that the FORECON Operators were overlapping the duties of the SEALs and needed to be more stressed in information retrieval. But FORECON has still be in training in IHR in Direct Action training syllabus; maybe the hopes of getting that chance or not, but we have been training in it since I was a with the ‘Company’. So the answer is the SEALs.
